Exercise Rehabilitation · Toronto
Rebuild the capacity
your life demands.
Assessment-driven, progressively loaded exercise for people who want to move beyond symptom management and return to work, training, sport, or valued activity.
From limitation to capacity
A bridge back to
meaningful activity.
Exercise rehabilitation is not about finding a perfect posture or promising a single corrective exercise. It is a structured way to understand your current tolerance, choose an appropriate starting point, and build capacity over time.
Steve combines CSCS® programming principles, movement and strength assessment, and RMT clinical perspective. Your plan is shaped around your history, schedule, equipment access, preferences, and the activities that matter to you.

The essentials,
up front.
Persistent lower-back or shoulder discomfort; reduced strength or confidence; recurring overload; and the gap between feeling somewhat better and doing what you value.
The plan is coached by a CSCS® and RMT who understands both performance demands and clinical boundaries. Progress is reviewed against function, not vague promises.
A useful starting point
Exercise rehabilitation may be useful when…
- Symptoms have improved, but you do not yet trust the area under real load.
- You keep cycling between rest, temporary relief, and the same flare-up.
- You need a graded return to lifting, golf, tennis, martial arts, or demanding work.
- You want skilled coaching and progression rather than an unsupervised exercise sheet.

Request a rehabilitation assessmentClinical boundaries
Rehabilitation does not replace diagnosis or urgent care.
Progressive weakness, worsening numbness, changes in bowel or bladder function, saddle-area numbness, significant trauma, systemic illness, or other red flags require prompt medical assessment. Steve refers when a presentation needs care outside his professional scope.
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before
you request.
Is this physiotherapy?
No. Steve is an RMT and CSCS®, not a physiotherapist. Exercise rehabilitation is provided within his training and massage therapy scope, and referral is recommended when physiotherapy, medical diagnosis, imaging, or another regulated service is more appropriate.
Do I need to be pain-free before I start?
Not always. The decision depends on your presentation, medical guidance where relevant, symptom behaviour, and the activity being introduced. The starting point should be tolerable, understandable, and adjustable.
Where are sessions held?
One-to-one exercise rehabilitation and training sessions are held at AK Fitness Studio, 44 Prince Andrew Place in North York.
How is progress measured?
Measures are selected around your goal and may include strength, range, repetition tolerance, symptom response, movement confidence, and return to specific work or sport tasks.
A direct next step
Tell Steve what you want
to get back to.
You do not need to choose the perfect service first. Share your goal, what has been limiting you, and a few preferred times. Steve will help identify the most appropriate starting point.
